Will Stanton is a New york-based composer, audio engineer, and technology enthusiast who creates music for film, dance, and common listening. Will's passion for sound has led him to spend the last 7 years freelancing in a range of roles: house engineer, programmer, composer, recording engineer. Most recently, Will has been splitting his time between projects with corporate clients (George Soros, Fox Business News, Wythe Hotel) and producing musical projects (Jeanann Dara's Énouement I & II).
Will first cut his teeth as engineer interning and freelancing at a range of prominent studios: Brooklyn's Grand Street Recording, LA's award-winning Emoto Music, and Just Blaze's Harlem-based studio Stadium Red. Will has also worked with a range of performers, artists, and musicians as the house engineer for jazz and new music venues ShapeShifter Lab, La Sala, and Spectrum.
As a composer, Will is fascinated with combining traditional acoustic music with advanced recording studio techniques and electronics. His work has been heard in venues ranging from the Detroit Institute of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Arts Detroit to the Baryshnikov Arts Center and the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival. Will frequently performs solo, as well as with collaborators. In recent years, Will has toured internationally as an audio engineer and visual programmer for the Virgil Moorefield Pocket Orchestra.
